This is where we will check out the latest bikes on offer. This is a very subjective look at the machinery that make downhilling all possible. You might agree with what we say and you might not, either way we'd like to hear about it goat@downhilldownunder.com

What can we say about the 22X series that hasn’t already been said by a string of world champions, hundreds of privateer racers and a seriously enthusiastic biking press? It’s simple – just like its legendary predecessors, the 224-evolution is designed and built for off-the-peg downhill speed and competition victory at every level.
At the heart of the 224-evolution lies massively stiff but lightweight front and rear ends, joined by the famously reliable and slop-free oversized single-pivot assembly. A wide axle clamp area enhances already phenomenal tracking, while the 224-evolution’s eccentric headtube system and adjustable shock mount enable independent tweaking of the bike’s head angle, wheelbase and bottom bracket height – perfect for individual riding styles or terrain and gradients that change from course to course.
The end result is breathtaking – a super-plush, super-stiff yet highly manoeuvrable DH bike, equally at home on the international and domestic race circuits or pinning it just for fun. But don’t take our word for it – take a look around and believe what you see.

I just love this bike: it is simple (single pivot system) and beefy !

For 2011, Morewood made some changes with its Makulu downhill bike. The modifications were based on pertinent feedback over the past two years like that from the World Cup team in 2009 and 2010. Coming out as one of the leading DH bikes in the market, the 2011 Morewood Makulu now comes in three sizes, small, medium and large.
The modified Makulu now has low leverage linkage which makes it more progressive. Added benefit would be making it more compatible with different brands of new components and parts in the market like Fox DHX and Cane Creek Double Barrel. It also has a 15x12mm rear axle.
The frame underwent some aesthetic changes. Instead of the curved top tube, a straight tube replaced it. This gives extra stiffness around the front triangles. The 2011 Morewood Makulu also features an 83mm bottom bracket an an ISCG-05 chain mount.

For 2011, Devinci reveals the Wilson Downhill Bike. Like other models in the 2011 line, the Devinci Wilson features the Split Pivot Suspension system. The Split Pivot rear gives active braking and lateral rigid suspension. Rocker linkage is found under the bottom bracket. Having the Split Pivot rear feeds the shock absorber correct leverage rates. This will in turn help your speed.
The 2011 Devinci Wilson has a 3.5? stroke shock and a 216mm travel with end travel privilege. This gives you a bottomless feel with its ratio ramp. Everything comes together in a balance with its frame which is square edged. Bump compliance and pedaling power also have improved. The 2011 Devinci Wilson is one of the three platforms Devinci has for 2011 on making the move away from FSR-style suspension.
